Erin’s Q1 Income & Expenses

About 2 weeks ago, we had a revenue diversification video chat on Google+. About 3 minutes before the video started, I decided that I would share actual numbers from February’s income and expense sheet. I also promised to spell it all out for everyone in a blog post…so here goes!

(Putting it all out there for you! Also, note this is $5 Dinners only, it doesn’t include the other projects that I’m working on!)

And PLEASE watch the video above, as we all explain in depth our thoughts and experiences with revenue and diversification of revenue streams.

Traffic levels – average about 500K pageviews a month. Viral post in January led to 2 million pageviews in January, and as a result a large bump in revenue in February and April.

January Income

Projections for Q2 ~ I’ve picked up a number of sponsored content pieces that will pay out in May and June, and am on tap for another $6,000 ad revenue month in April. Very pleased with the continued growth in revenue for $5 Dinners!

I share this with the intent that it will help you see other streams of revenue that you might not be utilizing, as well as to spur you on and encourage you to be smarter with the way you are monetizing your website. Remember…what can you do to earn money while you sleep?!?

  2. Holy shyt!! Okay….now for my more mature response: this is amazing!! My little ‘ole blog Thrift Diving (http://www.thriftdiving.com) isn’t pulling anywhere near those numbers. I have brought in about $4,000 since the start of 2014, and my expenses have been around $2,500 or so. What kind of traffic must I get in order to be bringing in some numbers like this? I’m around 32,000 page views per month. I imagine yours is triple that. Adsense brings in around $150 per month, and I’ve some some sponsored posts and stuff. But I am trying to figure out how to get to where you are by Fall 2015! These numbers are so inspiring and gives me something to reach for! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
